हर-की-पौड़ी - हरिद्वार का सर्वाधिक पवित्र एवं प्रसिद्ध स्थल (देव-भूमि उत्तराखण्ड)

हर-की-पौड़ी जो ब्रम्हकुंड के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है, हरिद्वार के सर्वाधिक पवित्र एवं प्रसिद्ध स्थल के रूप में जाना जाता है। यह वह स्थान है जहाँ गंगा नदी पहाड़ों को छोड़ने के बाद मैदानों में प्रवेश करती है। हर-की-पौड़ी का निर्माण प्रसिद्ध राजा विक्रमादित्य द्वारा अपने भाई ब्रिथारी की याद में करवाया था, जो गंगा नदी के घाट पर बैठ कर ध्यान किया करते थे।इस स्थान से संबंधित कई मिथकों में से एक यह है कि वैदिक समय के दौरान हिंदू भगवान् विष्णु एवं शिव यहाँ प्रकट हुए थे। अन्य मिथक यह कहते हैं कि हिंदू भगवान् ब्रम्हा, जिन्हें सृष्टि का सृजनकर्ता भी कहा जाता है, यहाँ एक यज्ञ किया था। यहाँ घाट पर पदचिन्ह है जो ऐसा कहा जाता है कि भगवान् विष्णु के हैं।
ऐसा माना जाता है कि हर-की-पौड़ी में एक बार डुबकी लगाने पर एक व्यक्ति के सारे पाप धुल जाते हैं। भक्त बड़ी संख्या में यहाँ कुछ प्रथाओं जैसे कि ‘मुंडन’ (सिर की हजामत) एवं ‘उपनयन’ (एक प्रारंभिक संस्कार) को पूर्ण करने के लिए आते हैं। प्रत्येक 12 वर्ष के पश्चात यहाँ ‘कुंभ मेले’ का आयोजन किया जाता है जिसे देखने के लिए कई हज़ार भक्त यहाँ आते हैं।

Har-ki-Pauri, which is known as Brmhkund, Haridwar is known as the most sacred and famous. This is the place where Ganga enters the plains to the mountains after leaving. Here are some practices, such as a large number of devotees' tonsure (shaving of the head) and 'Upanayana' (a preliminary rite) to come to the full.
